I had wondered about this track in the past..the bts story really brings it to life again! (Pun intended, considering the Indy video images) Stories behind songs is the way into everyone’s imagination! (I’m trying to picture those fancy dress shoes) Great post!

In reality, my friend (who the female character is based on) probably was not wearing fancy dress shoes at that weird beach party, but when I was writing this, I was thinking about the passage of time since this little story is based on very old memories. As the character is slowly emptying the sand I started to picture the fancy dress shoes as a metaphor for hour glasses...and the character mentions 'time' in a couple of places in the story. The only facts are really in the lines from the song: the bizarre beach party "dance", the drive to the airport and codeine in the 222s! lol I'm so glad you enjoyed this piece. It was a fun one to write and brought back some fond memories! :)
