I woke up this morning to a message from the almighty Spotify telling me, in no uncertain terms, my latest song “Alone With Your Radio” was now LIVE on their streaming platform.
The message seemed more excited than I was.
I needed coffee.
The message continued.
It recommended I do a song and dance and shout from some rooftops that there was another tune in their ocean of tunes worth loving and playlisting.
Yeah, it was much more excited than I was.
I deleted the message (much to its chagrin I’m sure) and decided to write about my new song here.
It goes something like this: Alone With Your Radio
And if you don’t like/use Spotify, that’s super cool with me because I’d prefer you follow me and listen on a much more indie-musician-friendly platform, Bandcamp.
For those who’d like to sing or follow along, here are the words:
I’m alone with your radio
It seems I’ve been left here in charge
Of your haunting melodies
And pop punk harmonies
You sing a lot.
I’m alone in your radiance
I hear you’ve rarely left my mind
I’m dying to believe
This mystery chemistry
Is a lucky find.
Some say I only want to make you smile
Before I fall in love with your lifestyle
So in peace by the warm circuitry.
I’m alone with your heart of gold
The bleakness has left an awful scar
I’m dying to believe
A heart held honestly
Is a lucky star.
Some say I only want to make you smile
Before I fall in love with your lifestyle
So in peace by the warm circuitry.
Thanks for reading. I’ll try to do more of these in the future.
And tell you about my obsession with radio.
